Today, pupils will begin to plan their very own newspaper broadcast. Pupils will imagine they are reporting about the Anglo-Saxon invasion (see newspaper article below), they are live at the scene!

1. Pupils read the newspaper report about the imminent invasion. 

2. Pupils choose a character, from the character cards, and create some interview questions.

3. Use the planning sheet to plan their news broadcast and interview.

This week pupils will learn about the 'push & pull' factors that King Vortigern used to help him convince Ango-Saxon settlers to come to England and help him fight his enemies. 

Pupils will imagine that they are King Vortigern, and write a letter trying to convince the Anglo-Saxons to help him.
