Activities for Monday to Wednesday
FRIDAY- Today we have the following jobs for you to have a go at:
Phonics: we are doing the 'ch' sound today, you can watch this video of Gerald the Giraffe teaching you todays sound:
Can you play ‘ch’ bingo you could draw your own or use the template (see activity sheet below).
Then can you draw pictures for some ‘ch’ words and write a label for them. Who can write a sentence using the tricky word ‘the’ e.g. The mouse likes cheese.
Can you sequence the pictures for this week’s story 'Lost and Found' (see activity sheet below), using labels beginning, middle and end.
Can you draw an alternate ending, what might happen at the end of the story if the boy couldn’t find the penguin?
Can you count the objects on the ten frame template (see activity sheet below) and write how many there are altogether. Practise making a 10 frame on this website: https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/tenFrame/index.html
Can you find all of the number bonds to 10 using the 10 frame sheet (see activity sheet below) and record your number sentences (7+3=10).
We have been learning about arctic animals this week and know they live in very cold climates, can you make an icy arctic scene using old boxes, paint, cotton wool etc.

Next week we will be learning about different types of animals....
Choose an animal of your choice and find a book about them – you may have ones at home or you can search for a story on youtube. THURSDAY - Today we have the following jobs for you to have a go at:
Phonics: we are doing the 'qu' sound today, you can watch this video of Gerald the Giraffe teaching you todays sound:
Can you be creative and make a qu poster, using crayons, paint or collage?
Then can you make a list of the 'qu' words and practise reading and writing them with your grown-up. Who can make the longest word?!
Retell this weeks story 'Lost and Found' using our story map (see picture attached) with your story actions. Can you make some puppets of the characters to retell the story? You can use the template (on the school website) or draw your own.
Can you use objects at home to make a number between 5-10 on the ten frame template (on the school website)
Can you practice writing your numbers.
We have been learning about arctic animals this week and know they live in very cold climate, can you freeze some water in a container and explore how you can melt it the quickest!
