Autumn 1

Designing and making a castle

We have had lots of fun designing and making our very own castles! Before we made our castles, we researched different types of castles and thought about important features such as the battlements, drawbridge and arrow slits. We then designed our own castle and worked in pairs to make them. We then painted our castles and tried hard to create a brickwork effect. In our English sessions, we looked at instructions and wrote our own instructions on how to make a castle.

Castles Dress Up Day

We have had lots of fun learning more about Castles as part of our dress up day.

We enjoyed food tasting at the banquet, designing our own shields and crowns, learning how to draw dragons and juggling and telling jokes like jesters. Below are some of the photos from our day.

Investigating 1 more and 1 less and counting on within 10.

Week Beginning 12th September

This week we have been retelling the story of Little Red Riding Hood in English as well as practising our phonics. In Maths we have been counting objects to 10 and sorting.
