Improvising over a Drone (using iPads to create a multi-media project)

This half term we have been on a bit of a journey of the imagination.

We began by listening to a wide range of music from Film Scores to You Tube relaxation videos and learned all about the DRONE in music.

We then experimented with IMPROVISING over the top of the DRONE to create some interesting TEXTURES and DYNAMICS.

We also drew on previous learning of STRUCTURE and KEYS to enable us to create music that EVOKED images.

Using our imaginations we combined our compositions from GarageBand and images from the internet to create our own mini AMBIENT film using iMovie. The idea is to create something that works as a whole and that the music and images COMPLEMENT each other to set a mood or idea.
