I joined the Governing Body when I was appointed to the post of headteacher of Ryton Park Primary School in 2004. My role is to provide the Governing Body with information which they can use to help them carry out their role as strategic leaders. Including the school improvement, pupil performance, staffing, site matters and budget information. I work closely with the Chair of the Full Governing Body in particular in support of their preparation for meetings. Additionally, I liaise with the specific link governors during their monitoring visits to the Academy. I am married, have lived and worked in Worksop for the majority of my life and live near to the school. I enjoy my role and feel privileged to work with a very committed team and serve the young people who are taught at the Academy. My interests are gardening and watching films. |

Personal Statement |
I have lived and worked in Worksop most of my life, with a short time spent working away with the WRAC (Women’s Royal Army Core). Education has always been important to me and I believe that with a good educational start in life, children can achieve their very best. I am a believer in Lifelong Learning, receiving a degree myself in 2011. I have supported my community for many years and have had links with the school and its outside community for over 20+ years. All six of my Grandchildren have attended the school within this time. |

Interests |
I have a passion for the great outdoors and love walking and all things ‘country’. I continue to play sports particularly field hockey but enjoy skiing and most forms of sporting activities. Cars and all things mechanical have a fascination for me and act as a foil to my every day job which I enjoy enormously but which can become very intense. |
|
Personal Statement |
I was educated in Worksop at the former Winifred Portland Technical Grammar School – now Outwood Portland Academy! Having moved away from Worksop in my late teens I returned to take up my first teaching post in Worksop in 1976 and have remained a resident of Worksop ever since. I have taught in many schools around the area the last being as Head of a special school in Rotherham. I currently work as an education advisor helping to provide alternative educational provision for those students for whom a mainstream placement is not suitable. I am committed to providing the least restrictive educational environment for all students to allow them to flourish and thrive in a positive environment. To this end I am committed to Sparken Hill Academy which I hope will be a shining beacon of educational provision for the community we serve. |

Interests |
Originally from March in Cambridgeshire, I moved to Worksop in 1997. I am married to Simon and we have 3 sons who are currently in Year 7, Year 6 and Year 4. After almost 5 years as a Parent Governor and Vice-Chair at another local school, I moved my children to Sparken Hill Academy in 2014. I regularly listen to children read in school and have a keen interest in Maths. I enjoy regular days out as a family to a wide variety of places. I have a keen interest in cooking, particularly baking. I also enjoy going to the Theatre and to see live music events. |
|
Personal Statement |
I want to make a difference so that the children in school are given the best opportunities possible. Children deserve the right to be the very best they can be, given the right teaching and nurtured to achieve their dreams. |

I studied Law at university and after graduating in 2007 I went on to work in the matrimonial department of a local law firm dealing with Children Act issues. I digressed away from the legal field to commit more time to my family and in 2016 was successful in my application to become a part of the admin team at Sparken Hill Academy. |
|
Personal Statement |
Through my previous work and personal experiences I understand the difficult backgrounds that some of our children come from and see the challenges that some families have to endure. I feel privileged to be a part of a team that are committed to making a difference and increasing opportunities. |
