Awesome Africa
During this term we will be looking at how diverse Africa is, then we will be taking a specific look at the country of Kenya, looking at it’s climate, land use, animals & aspects of physical and human geography and the impact it has. In English we look forward to narrative pieces based on the ‘Lion King’, holiday brochures, and diaries based on our class text ‘Akimbo’s Adventures’ & formal letter writing after our trip.
In maths we will be starting with place value, then moving onto addition and subtraction. We will be looking at the artist Steven Brown in our artwork and working with mixing colour palettes & then moving onto DT making African bags! We are also excited about going digital in our R.E. & P.S.H.E. lessons. It’s going to be a busy but fun term…
A fantastic, windy & fun day at YWP! We saw lions 🦁, unfortunately no tigers and 🐻 - well polar bears! Amongst many other incredible animals we would definitely not be able to see in this country. The class as ever, behaved impeccably and as always, I’m proud of how they compose themselves when outside of school.
