In English our main text has been The street child by Berlie Doherty. Following the life of Jim Jarvis as his family face the harsh times of life in London around the time of the industrial revolution and Jim finds himself sent to the work house.

During our study of this text we have created role plays of scenes from the book, written diary entries and considered how the family were feeling at different stages of the book.
