Summer Term - Raiders & Settlers
In this topic we will be looking at life in Britain in the 'Anglo Saxon & Viking period' We will be looking at life in Britain and how it changed, how Britain was ruled & hierarchy, arts & traditions, daily life & jobs and why the Saxons & Vikings came to Britain. In English we will be looking at genres like; myths and legends, poetry, journalistic writing, play scripts & narratives. Our art and DT cleverly incorporates creating Saxon jewellery with clay and making long boats. We continue our subjects such as PSHE with health & wellbeing and RE will be looking at 'Jesus'. In science in the first term we will be looking at electricity and the final term will see us return to animals including humans.

This term we held our first pride event, as a whole school the children have been learning about how we are inclusive and how we respect everyone’s differences. It was great to see the school in their different rainbow colours 🌈 at this mornings whole school assembly. This week in class we have also been looking at respecting & accepting & celebrating our differences and the LGBTQ+ community. We’ve created poems and thought about powerful words that define how accepting and respectful green 2 really are! The first and last tree is the tree we decorated. ⭐️ We went on a tree walk this afternoon to see what other classes had created. What a lovely day/week we have had and I want to say a huge shout out to all of green 2 for showing their maturity and understanding. 🩷❤️🧡💛💚
Tennis Festival 2023 @ Retford Oaks... thanks to the sports leaders and Bassetlaw School Games organiser for arranging a wonderful morning full of tennis activities. A nice active morning 🎾
