Week 1

We started this year by discussing what traits make a good friend and designed our own perfect best friend.

Week 2

We discussed what it’s like when friends fall out and the potential consequences to us emotionally. We then looked at a range of scenarios of friendship problems that the children had to come up with a solution for before finally creating their own problem in groups and then getting another group to come up with a solution to their problem.

Week 3

The children had a lesson on the history and laws surrounding marriage in the UK before coming up with their own wedding cake design that included some of the facts they wanted to display.

Class Belonging

As a sub project, the children have been designing half themselves as a pop art display to celebrate the protected characteristics of individuality and inclusivity and the core British values that underpin our society. The display was intended to demonstrate that colour is both vital to our identity and irrelevant in some instances. Very proud of their artistic expression here!
