Exploring Artists

The children have been looking at two artists this half term; Andy Warhol and Steven Brown. Both Artists explore the use of colour and repeated patterns. We started by creating repeated animal prints in a variety of colours, much like Andy Warhol did in his famous prints. We then went on to explore different mediums such as paint, wax crayon and felt tip to see how that changed the pattern. Finally, we began to look at how Steven Brown used colour on portraits of animals which we then recreated ourselves linking this to our topic of Africa by choosing a lion portrait.
