School Uniform
Our uniform has been agreed by the Trust Board with the cost to families as its first consideration. Under the law that came into force on 1 September 2026, a primary school may require no more than three branded items of uniform, including PE kit and book bags. At Sparken Hill, we provide all three free of charge. Everything else can be bought plain and unbranded from any shop.

Children in Foundation Stage 1 (Nursery) are given a full uniform free of charge.
You will never be asked to buy these items. If one is lost, damaged or outgrown, please tell the school office and we will replace it (reasonable usage applies).
What we ask families to provide
For jumpers, cardigans, skirts, pinafores and the PE hoodie you have a genuine choice: buy the school-branded version from our subsidised range, or a plain version from any shop or supermarket. Both are full school uniform, and no child is treated differently because of which you choose.

Buying branded items (optional)
We sell branded uniform at roughly half of what we are charged for it, and we take no cashback or commission from our supplier. Our garments are chosen to be hardwearing and to pass down well between brothers and sisters.

- Book bags: available, if you would like one, through the School Shop section of your child's Arbor account. The office will message you through the app to arrange collection. A book bag is optional, and any bag will do.
Free second-hand uniform
We keep a stock of good-quality second-hand uniform, including blazers, jumpers and hoodies. It is free, available all year, and open to families already with us and those joining us. To browse or collect at a private time, ask at the school office or speak to our Community Team. Donations of outgrown uniform are always welcome.
If money is tight, please tell us. We can help quickly and in confidence. Contact the school office on 01909 534060 or office@sparkenhill.com, or speak to a member of our Community Team.
No child will ever be sanctioned, kept out of a lesson or club, or prevented from going on a trip because of uniform they do not have. If something is missing, we will sort it out quietly.
Clubs, teams and non-uniform days
You will never be asked to buy extra branded kit for clubs, teams or competitions. Where team kit is needed, we lend it free of charge. Taking part in non-uniform and dressing-up days never depends on a donation or a costume.
Faith and individual needs
Every item of uniform is available to every child. We welcome uniform worn in a way that reflects a family's faith, and we will make sensible adaptations for disability, sensory or medical needs. Please speak to one of our SENCOs or contact the school office.
Please name every item of uniform, including coats and PE kit.
