Graphic Scores by YR 5 and 6

This terms musical adventures have taken us around our school to SAMPLE sounds that we found. We banged, scraped and tapped a variety of objects then recorded and manipulated the audio files using our iPads. We then explored ways of organising these sounds into a musical STRUCTURE and record them live in the music room or, edit them in GarageBand. To help us organise things we learned how to create and follow a GRAPHIC SCORE. A GRAPHIC SCORE is a visual representation of sound over time so, we used a lot of previous learning such as TIME SIGNATURES, DYNAMICS, MUSICAL NOTATION, IMPROVISATION and DRONES to help us make sense of it all.
