Read for 15 minutes every day. If you need a book look at the MyOn website, or Active Learn (Bug club) or Rising Stars Reading Planet.
This week we are going to be creating our very own non-fiction books about farm animals. Non-Fiction books are books that contain information and facts. Today we are going to be writing up the contents page. This tells the reader on what page they can find certain information so they don't have to read the whole book or read it in order. Choose 5 animals that you would like to write facts about and then complete the contents page of your book. E.g. 1 - All about sheep. 2 - All about cows. etc. You can download the book below.
Today is another chance to practise ordering numbers
In our art sessions we have been practicing and improving our drawing skills. This week, we are going to be using the skills we have learned to create our very own farm scene. Look at the different farm scenes (worksheet below) or search for your own in books and on the internet. Which is your favourite? Why? Have a go at sketching your own farm scene using pencil. Think back to our Shortening the Winter’s Day work when we thought carefully about what would be at the foreground (front) and what would be in the background (distance) and think about what you might see on the farm. What animals will you have on your farm? Maybe you will also include some buildings? Remember to think carefully about the different lines and shapes of the objects you are drawing.
