Foundation 2

Welcome back after half term! This week we are learning all about 'The Little Red Hen'. Read the plan for this week and use it as a daily guide of what to teach each day.
After you have read the plan, you can have a go at the daily activities below (labelled with a day to complete each ask).

Monday - Listen to the story of The Little Red Hen

How to bring the classroom to your house!

To help you keep a routine at home, try some of these activities.  This is how we learn in foundation stage.

Play is an important part of learning so take time to play with your children and have fun :)

Make a windmill using cardboard boxes.  Talk about the colours and shapes used.

Sensory play

Have a go at making gloop (cornflour, a little water & a drop of food colouring) talk about the changes as you combine/mix the ingredients.

Explore the gloop, notice how it looks solid but it is still a liquid.

Role Play

Animal masks to cut out

Act out and retell the story using the masks.

Outdoor World

On your outdoor walk, can you spot any early signs of Spring?  What are they? Can you draw a picture or take a photograph.

Write some speech bubbles for what the story characters say e.g. ‘Can you help me?’ or   ‘Not I’.

Draw or paint a picture of one of the animals in the story (the little red hen, a sleepy cat, a lazy dog, or a noisy duck).

Repeating patterns – find items on your walk, in the garden or at home.  Can you create your own repeating patterns? E.g.

Time to talk

Sharing and why we share? (linked to the Red Hen story).  How do you feel when someone does not share?

Once you have completed a challenge you can colour in one part of your rainbow! (match the colour to the colour of the challenge you have completed e.g. construction is green)

Download a rainbow to print off at home and colour in
