F1 Weekly Plan
How to bring the classroom to your house!
To help you keep a routine at home, try some of these activities. This is how we learn in foundation stage.
Play is an important part of learning so take time to play with your children and have fun :)
Construction Make a windmill using cardboard boxes. Talk about the colours and shapes used. |
Sensory play Have a go at making gloop (cornflour, a little water & a drop of food colouring) talk about the changes as you combine/mix the ingredients. Explore the gloop, notice how it looks solid but it is still a liquid. |
Role Play Animal masks to cut out Act out and retell the story using the masks.
|
Outdoor World On your outdoor walk, can you spot any early signs of Spring? What are they? Can you draw a picture or take a photograph. |
Writing Outdoor chalking or water bucket and paint brush – writing patterns e.g. zig zags, circles, lines or practise your name. |
Creative Draw or paint a picture of one of the animals in the story (the little red hen, a sleepy cat, a lazy dog, or a noisy duck). |
Maths Repeating patterns – find items on your walk, in the garden or at home. Can you create your own repeating patterns? E.g. |
Time to talk Sharing and why we share? (linked to the Red Hen story). How do you feel when someone does not share?
|
Once you have completed a challenge you can colour in one part of your rainbow! (match the colour to the colour of the challenge you have completed e.g. construction is green)
