Fixtures and results 2017-2018
Bassetlaw Boys league fixtures 2017-2018
This year we were again put into Division 1 for the league fixtures. This is based on size of School and number of pupils rather than on ability.
With only a few of our boys actually playing football for a club at the weekends it gives them a good opportunity to play the game they all seem to love.
Fixtures had to be played home and away and we also had another good cup run, getting into the quarter finals again.
It has been a mixed season with regard to results. Our heaviest defeat was against Prospect losing 8-1 and our best win was 5-0 against Carr Hill. We managed a 3-3 draw with St John’s and lost to Sir Edmund Hillary.
We also had a couple of friendly games with Clarborough which gave even more of the boys an opportunity to represent our school. Well done Tyler for being an outstanding captain this year, you have lead the team well and shown respect for all your team mates no matter what their ability.
Year 3/4 Friendly match V Clarborough
Tuesday 13th February 2018
This match gave a good opportunity for the younger boys to play and for some of them a fantastic opportunity to represent school for the first time.
It was a very wet and muddy pitch but this didn't stop the boys enjoying the game. Shaun scored in a goal mouth scramble to put us 1-0 in front. However the lead didn't last long as Clarborough scored on a quick counter attack.
Just before half time Shaun had a lucky break and scored from a 1 on 1 with the keeper. Half time was 2-1 to us .
In the 2 nd half we managed to score again, this time it was Regan who slotted the ball in from 5 yds. Then Regan scored again after a lovely run and cross into the penalty area by Theo. With 5 minutes to go Shaun scored our 5th goal and his hat-trick.
All the boys played really well and you can see some action photos below.
