Girls Football Team 2018-2019

Friendly Match V Clarborough

On Tuesday 7th May we played a friendly game against Clarborough. As it was a friendly we gave lots of girls an opportunity to play and mixed the team up a bit. All the Girls deserve great credit for another hard and well fought performance. Final score was 3-1 to Clarborough but that doesn’t matter, what does matter is giving as many girls as possible the opportunity to play football for our school.

Sheffield United Competition

on Wednesday 24th April we were invited to take part in a Girls only football festival organised by Sgeffield United. The idea was to take Girls who don’t play regularly either for school or an outside club. We took 2 teams, a year 5/6 team and a year 3/4 team.

Each team played 7 matches against other schools and it was all on a friendly basis.

It was a great opportunity for our girls to have a go at football and they all thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity.

Champion of Champion match V Redlands

On Thursday 2nd May our Girls played in the above competition against Redlands school. It was a really great match and all of our Girls played really well. Unfortunately we lost by 2-1 but the effort and determination that was seen on the pitch was fantastic to watch. Well done Girls.

Bassetlaw Girls league 2018-2019

We played our first league matches on Tuesday 16 th October 2018. These were against Clarborough, CarrHill and Ramsden.

First we played CarrHill, a really great game, end to end football. We took the lead when Cassidy took control of a lovely pass from Miley and hit the ball beautifully into the net. Then Amelia scored a great goal from outside the area and smashed it in. Half time was 2-0 to us. Then Carr Hill scored after Chloe had made a great save and they hit the rebound in. We scored moments later from a corner to make final score 3-1.

Next we played Clarborough school, again we took the lead with Miley running down the wing and cutting in to score. After that we had lots of chances but couldn’t score. They had a shot saved by Chloe who was amazing in our goal. Eventually they did score to make it 1-1 and with minutes to go they scored again.

Final score was 2-1.

Finally we played Ramsden and by then we were exhausted and you could tell. Our defence were amazing but mid field were finding it hard to get up and down the pitch. Ramsden had 3 very good players and they all score goals. The final score was 3-0

Our girls were amazing ambassadors and role models for our school , we are incredibly proud if you all.
